SALUS HERBS – GROWN AS PURELY AS NATURE INTENDED
As a responsible herbal manufacturer, Salus-Haus is renowned for its environmental conservation programmes at home and abroad.
The World Environment Summit in Rio served to focus attention on global issues of conservation and the sustainable use of genetic resources. Salus-Haus has entered fully into the spirit of this Summit by co-operating with various developing countries in order to guarantee the continuous supply of high quality plant material.
Salus co-operates with farmers by subsidising their work in the cultivation of organic crops and with the local people who gain valuable employment.
Previously uncultivated plants
are grown and research and development into new preparation
processes and methods of pest and weed control is carried
out.
Currently Salus is involved in various projects in Africa,
Bolivia and Chile. In Chile, Salus owns and runs two organic
farms to ensure that only quality organic herbs are grown.
Conditions in Chile are ideal for the organic cultivation
of many herbs, due to the exceptionally low levels of environmental
pollution and little risk of contamination from industrial
pollutants.
We run these farms in order to ensure that herbs are grown according to strict biological cultivation guidelines in which no pesticides or fertilizers are used. In turn this contributes to the environmental preservation of local eco-systems and ensures the well-being of local communities.
